Colonial Dance featuring featuring the social dances that were popular in this country from 1730 to 1799. Our program will consist primarily of longways "country" dances as well as a few cotillions (the predecessor of quadrilles). With dances of various skill levels throughout the evening, there is sure to be something for beginners and experienced dancers alike.

Beginner-friendly / Bringing a partner is not required / Historical attire is optional

$5 payable at the door

FREE: On the first Saturday of January, the Montebello Historical Society invites you to their Commemoration of the Battle of Rio San Gabriel which took place in early January 1847 (prior to the Capitulation at Campo de Cahuenga); there will be a reenactment of this local encounter fought in California during the Mexican American War, also, live fandango music and dancing which recreates an important part of Early California life, plus presentations by historic figures.
SITE: Juan Matias Sanchez Adobe, 946 N. Adobe Avenue,Montebello, CA 90640. Plentiful street parking.

The Historical Tea & Dance Society presents its Jane Austen Tea Dance Social; Beginners welcome; No partner needed; Afternoon tea

Dance instruction and practice. Tea and comestibles will be served. Costume not required. Beginners welcome. No partner required. Admission $20.

Main dance starts at 1:30.
Dance class starts at 12:30 for an extra $5.
