Join us at Heritage Museum of Orange County to celebrate the ratification of the original California Constitution.

This first Constitution, which was ratified on November 13, 1849, was written in both English and Spanish. (It was replaced in 1879 with our current Constitution.)

Our celebration will be a family event featuring a reenactment of the signing of the document, traditional Mexican music from the 1840s, guest speakers, children’s activities, and refreshments. The activities will repeat in the morning and afternoon.

We are working to locate and welcome descendants of the original signers of the document.

Admission is free. No reservations are needed.

Location:
Heritage Museum of Orange County
3101 West Harvard Street
Santa Ana, CA 92704

Note: The Victorian Social Club will be staging a picnic in support of this event. Attendees are encouraged to join them in Victorian attire with period picnic stuff.
