Presented by the Pasadena Museum of History: Sip a cocktail, and join Walter Nelson in an exploration of bizarre, amusing and alarming medical ideas and inventions of the turn of the 20th Century.
Particular attention will be paid to the afflictions of the fairer sex (due chiefly to the evil effects of novels and higher education); the ravages of neuresthenia upon people of superior intellect; and those other debilities that come from a sapping of the Vital Force.
Techniques discussed will include phrenology, excellent patent medicines such as Kickapoo Indian Sagwah; elctrotheraputic and other ingenious inventions, and some of the marvels that may be accomplished with goat testicles.
Price is $45 for members of the Pasadena Museum of History, and $50 for non-members.
