We shall be learning set dances, waltzes, and one of Jane Austen’s favorite type of dance, the Cotillion.

Learn to dance or practice your moves at the Janet Goeske Center located at 5257 Sierra St. in Riverside, CA. No partner required.

We dance the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, except holidays.

From 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm we teach the basic steps to beginners.

Dancing is from 3:00 pm to 4:45 pm.

If you are attending an event such as the Dickens Festival in Riverside or the Fall Ball in Pasadena, come join us to practice the dances.

History Comes Alive at WAHA's annual Living History Tour, "The Artist’s Way: Poets and Painters, Singers, Songwriters and Artists," on Saturday, September 23. They made music…and art, poetry, photography and dance. And now their stories will come alive with the landmark Angelus Rosedale Cemetery as the stage, as actors –– in costume and at graveside –– give first person portrayals of the lives of the creative souls who are among its permanent residents.

The Waltz of the Jazz Age is different from the Victorian style as well as the current "international ballroom" version. It is free, easy and intimate.

The program will cover several of the steps and styles of the time, to include the "box-step", the turning Waltz, the walking Waltz and the French Musette style.

Cost: $10 by cash or check at the door.

The instruction will make extensive use of film clips from the era.

Beginners welcome. No partner required. Jazz Age style clothing is encouraged but not in any way required.

Come learn about some local early California History at the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum. We will be having a living history weekend covering The Battle of Dominguez Rancho or The Battle of the Old Woman's Gun (October 8, 1846) which was a military engagement of the Mexican–American War (1846 to 1848), that took place right here in Southern California in 1846. The battle took place within Manuel Dominguez's 75,000-acre (300 km2) Rancho San Pedro, which today encompasses the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum.
