Playclothes is absolutely thrilled to welcome legendary furniture designer Charles Hollis Jones to Playclothes for a reception on Thursday, July 9th from 6 to 9 p.m. Mr. Jones, hailed as a Modernist master for his pioneering and innovative use of acrylic and lucite in furniture design, will be creating a window display for the store, and will be
present to answer your questions and bask in your admiration. If his work is good enough for Frank Sinatra, Tennesse Williams, Bob Hope and the Smithsonian, it ought to be good enough for you!

As well as being a legendary furniture designer, Mr. Jones was a founding board member of the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles.

Regular store hours: Mon-Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 12pm-5pm.

Please join the ADSLA for "Wearable Deco" a fashion show featuring vintage clothing from the 1920s. There will be two opportunities to see the show, one at 4:30 and the second at 6:00p.m.

Spend a lovely late afternoon at the Workman Temple Homestead and enjoy music by Ian Whitcomb and his Bungalow Boys and the Night Blooming Jazzmen, dance demonstration by One2Swing Jitterbugs and lots of other fun activities.

1920s dress is encouraged & Prohibition will be strictly enforced! Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, but please leave little Fido at home (only certified service animals are permitted at the festival).

The Workman Temple Homestead is one mile north of the #60 Freeway at the Hacienda Boulevard exit (twenty miles east of downtown Los Angeles).
